If you mention “chocolate” and “peanut butter” in the same breath, my BFF (the gorgeous and talented Monica) perks RIGHT up. She’s been present for at least one, and I think both, of the previous chocolate peanut butter cake extravaganzas I’ve put on, but being a smart lady who gets what she wants, she’s been thinking of ways to make it even better. Her suggestion was to make it all chocolate with just one thin disc of peanut butter on each layer – and voila, that’s what arrived at her house for her birthday festivities. It was pronounced delicious.

It was, indeed, delicious. PS – you know that pint of H-D choco-pb ice cream we bought? Finished it. I don’t regret a single bite. It wasn’t as good as this cake, though.
